Murad Resurgence Review
Younger looking skin in just 30 days? That’s what Murad promises from their 3 step Resurgence anti aging system. This is the first anti aging product I’ve seen that is specifically targeted at Hormonal aging (the aging process that all women face as they grow older).
I personally like the science behind LifeCell Skin Care, Murad Resurgence is offering a price point ($40 for initial offer) alternative that is also a 3 step approach to anti aging.
On initial inspection of the product I have high hopes. Dr. Murad, a well known dermatologist, provides great skin care products to his clients including his top rated Acne Complex treatment system. Murad has proven to be a big success in the Acne treatment world, can they produce great results in the anti aging market? Let’s find out.
The 3 Step Resurgence System
Like Murad’s other product Resurgence is a 3 step system consisting of a cleanser, treatment serum, and night cream. Why three different products? The idea is that treating your skin over all will produce better results then just targeting wrinkles so each step improves your skin in a different way.
The multi step products are:
- Resurgence Renewing Cleansing Cream
- Resurgence Age-Diffusing Serum
- Resurgence night cream
Promising Active Ingredients
The Murad Resurgence Serum contains some very promising ingredients that have been proven effective in other anti wrinkle treatments including: acetyl hexapeptide-3 (argireline) and almitoyl pentapeptide-3 (matrixyl). These ingredients are found in other wrinkle treatments including Lifecell.
Acetyl hexapeptide-3 has been called the alternative to botox due to it’s ability to release neurotransmitters in the body that relax facial tension that leads to wrinkles and fine lines.
The other key ingredient, almitoyl pentapeptide-3 aka matrixyl, stimulates the production of collagen. As we age collagen is lost in the skin, and we don’t have an easy way to get it back. Stimulating the production of new collagen improves the appearance of sagging skin and wrinkles over time.
These two key ingredients have been proven to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.
The third step Resurgence night cream is more of a moisturizer then an anti aging product. Inspection of the ingredients list revealed that there are no known anti aging ingredients contained in the night cream.
The same goes for the first step Resurgence renewing cleanser. It exfoliates and removes dead skin cells and promotes hydration but doesn’t contain any direct anti aging ingredients. The theory behind the Murad Resurgence system is that by treating the skin in three different ways will yield maximum results when compared to a single anti wrinkle product.
If you use the anti aging set as directed then you should run out of each item at around the same time, justifying a reorder of the entire kit. How ever if you’re not careful and use more serum say then the cleanser you could be left with more of something left over and none of another.
Application goes as follows:
First wash your face with approximately a small amount of the cleansing cream. This will remove oil, dirt and makeup from the day. After cleansing is complete apply a pea sized amount of the serum on your face. You must leave this to dry for 10-15 seconds. Once dry apply a pea sized amount of the night cream over the serum and that’s it.
Verdict on Resurgence
I like the (3) step approach as it’s an over all health treatment plan for your skin and not just an anti wrinkle cream. In our search for the best wrinkle cream, Murad Resurgence appears to have put together a nice mix of all natural ingredients, however the lack of tested and proven active ingredients leaves a question about how drastic can the results be using this system?
Right now Resurgence is offering TV promotional offer where by you can get a 30 day trial supply for only $39.95. A 90 day supply of all three products is available for $156, and you can purchase all three products individually on the Official Murad website in case your run out of one product before the rest.
You have a 100% money back guarantee to support you for 60 days after purchase from Murad so you can feel safe purchasing the larger 90 day supply and if you don’t get satisfactory results return for refund.
You may get similar anti aging results in competitive products that contain both Matrixyl and Argireline such as Lifecell, how ever the price point on these products doesn’t make them more attractive (Lifecell goes for $197 a tube).
End result is you get what you pay for. Less expensive anti wrinkle creams tend to contain no proven anti aging ingredients so you end up with no results.
