Lancome Genifique Review
Lancome is one of the most well known names in the world of premium health and beauty products, and employs a wealth of celebrities to endorse the products and say how great they are. The Genifique anti aging serum is said to make skin smoother, softer and more supple and make it more even toned and younger in appearance. It can be used by women of any age, and should be used twice a day as part of your normal beauty routine.
How does Genifique Work?
The Lancome website gives very little detail about what the ingredients in Genifique are (a down fall for us when trying to choose the best anti wrinkle cream), and talks in general terms about innovative formulas and proteins. If you dig a little deeper on the internet you can find some of the ingredients in the product, which include salicylic acid derivatives, moisturizers and phytosphimgasine. Many of the ingredients in Genifique are not found in other anti aging products, and conversely, many of the proven anti aging ingredients found in other anti wrinkle creams are not found in Genifique. The claims made for the product are quite hazy and include statements about “boosting gene activity” or “activating youth proteins” but there is a complete lack of concrete information about what is in the product and what it is supposed to do for your skin.
Although the Lancome website has an expensively produced multimedia presentation about the product, there are no testimonials from customers of before and after photos to help you to judge whether or not the product works. If you search around on the internet you’ll find plenty of reviews however, and few of them are positive. Many women complain that the product makes their skin feel very tight and dry, and causes problems with spots where there were never issues previously. None of the recognized anti aging ingredients are present in the product and it is hard to see how it will work at all to reduce your aging signs. There is no free trial available for the product. Lancome is sold extensively in department stores though, and it should be easy to pick up a small sample by going in to chat with the sales people.
Conclusion
It seems as if Lancome are just jumping on the anti aging bandwagon with this product, which is not proven to work and has extremely mixed reviews from customers. The only positive comments seem to be about the packaging and applicator rather than about anything to do with the product itself. Genifique is quite expensive and customers would be best advised to avoid it completely and buy something with proven ingredients instead.
